I am a Black woman who celebrates the sizes, shapes, and shades of all of my beautiful sisters because we deserve the agency to define our own beauty and womanhood. This celebration is extended to the full spectrum of women, and as I continue to develop my ally identity I aspire to work collaboratively with Trans* and non-binary women to end heterosexism and cissexism (Edwards, 2006).

I am an educated Black woman who strives to uplift and celebrate all women especially Black women because of our unique positionality that is often ignored by society and equally misunderstood by White women and Black men (Collins, 2000).

It is through my own engagement in all-female spaces that I have learned the meaning of sisterhood, healing, and celebration. This is why I can attest to the power that Black women possess and why I strive to counter the negative dominant narratives of Black women (Delgado & Stefanic, 2001).

I aim to find and create platforms for the stories of my sisters to be told so that community and kinship can be celebrated in order for mentorship and encouragement to flourish. I am an educated Black woman whose passion is to educate Black women.

Guided by my four core values: happiness, education, relationships, and celebration I identify as a body positive womanist who is dedicated to student success.
